For anyone living or visiting in or around Mesa, Arizona, be sure and include a visit to the annual display of lights at the beautiful Mesa Temple! Since it is Christmas, and it had stopped raining, my husband and I decided to visit the temple lights at around 5:30! It was a balmy 60 degrees out, and there were lots of people, but it wasn't too crowded so we got a great parking spot.
For more information and to find out what performances are presented each evening, be sure to check it out at: Christmastemplelights.com. There is free parking and free admission.
I am sharing my favorite photos....It is difficult to narrow down 'cause I got lots of them. This was my first experiment with my SLR night photos. I tried them without a tripod, and some of them were a little blurry, but 90% of them were pretty good.
I love the reflection in the pool in front of the Temple.
This is awesome too.....
This was my third attempt of the manger/nativity scene. This was much clearer than the other two.
I am pretty proud of this one I took of Mary and Joseph....came out much clearer.
This last one was a light show in and of itself. Started from the top and spread downwards. I caught almost the entire thing. This camera is wonderful!
Visting the temple lights and visitor's center was a great winding up of a wonderful Christmas Day. MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone!

Beautiful shots Teri! I love driving by there this time of year. Merry Christmas!
Hey Nick....yes, it is truly beautiful! Merry Christmas to you, and thank you. ;-)
Teri - wow, that looks amazing. Our downtown is pretty spectacular this time of the year as well. Merry Christmas :) ~Rita
TERI, you are farther along on those nightime pictures than I am. I tried to take some of our neighborhood but they did not come out. Yours are gorgeous.
Amazing photos, Teri. I just bought a digital SLR, but haven't gotten around to using it much yet.
Brian and Rita, thank you. I love the lights this time of year.....this was a fun experience. ;-)
Marchel, I am scheduled for a Nikon class in February...meanwhile, I'm trying to learn all I can. I have a setting for night time...this was it. ;-) Thank you so much....
Carol Lee, thanks. It was fun taking them. I love my camera....had it for a couple of years, but still lots to learn. ;-)
Teri these are really beautiful shots. You have done a great job showing off the local holiday displays:)
Teri,
I really like the nativity photo! Merry christmas!
Mike in Tucson
Bill, thank you. It's a great annual event, and it is a treat to show it off. ;-)
Mike, thank you...that's one of my favorites too. I hope you had a Merry Christmas as well.....
Teri: THIS SHOULD BE A FEATURE on localism!!! These are absolutely breathtaking photos! Thank you for sharing!
Kat, CUTE smiley! ;-) Thanks so much...they did turn out pretty good, huh?
Teri - I love your photos... Nothing gets me in the spirit like Christmas lights!
Debbie, I agree....that's one of the reasons we went on Christmas night. ;-) Thanks so much,
Teri, those photos are GORGEOUS!!! The reflections...oh, just perfect.
Lisa, thank you for stopping by to comment. I am very pleased with how they turned out. It's the wanna be
photographer in me! ;-)
I don't think our temple here did this, but what a great idea. The way the driveway is set up here, it would perfect for something like this.
Todd, I thought that all of the temples were lit up.....interesting...maybe only the grounds? The temple itself isn't lit up here, only the gardens and the grounds. ;-)
This year's nightly performances were as breath-taking as the scenery. I love this annual tradition of seeing the nativities and hearing the performers... Mesa just wouldn't be the same without it.
Hi Chuck, I agree...one year I sang at the temple in Los Angeles...very cool...literally. ;-)
