I just wanted to stop and share a quick note. A post I wrote some months back about Queen Creek was found by a Washington Realtor! He referred me a listing which I just took tonight and will be sharing here.
Another localism post written by me about Mesa was found by someone who wants to list her home after the first of the year.
Yet another seller found me per my Active Rain Mesa Localism posts - that home has since sold.
Another listing referral I took was given me by someone here on the Rain. It didn't sell, but was leased out instead.
I am working with a buyer from Michigan. Guess where she found me? Yep, on a localism blog post!
I have to admit that my year has not been "stellar" in terms of the dollars....but posting and keeping in touch on Active Rain has been of great benefit to me. Thanks to all of you on the Rain...

Mesa, Way to go!! Keep up the good work!! Merry Christmas!!

TERI, Congrats! You write excellent localism post and I'm glad it is turning in to business. I know that I have had business come my way from the rain but it is hard to know if they find my website first or the rain first.
Teri- I went to flag it for the feature and someone beat me to it.:) well deserved gold star!
Teri, awesome news! I'm sure you post quality content:)
Catina, thanks so much - Merry Christmas to you as well. ;-)
Katerina, hey girl....Brad tweeted me...told me he featured it. Cool, huh? Now I'll be busy responding for a few days. ;-) I think AR is a GREAT place to market ourselves....
Marchel, thanks. Sometimes I have to dig to find out where they find me...but it's almost always from a post on AR. I generally post the same on my website....;-)
Thanks Katerina!!!
Olena, I believe in writing posts that are of interest to either buyers, sellers, or other agents and real estate professionals here. ;-) Thanks for dropping by and commenting.
Teri, Congratulations that is super awesome news! Thanks for sharing with us what can happen. Best Wishes!

Teri - that is so great. I love to hear these types of good news! Hmm, I have to go see if I am following you on twitter... ~Rita
Teri- that is SO awesome! I just closed a deal for a buyer that found me online. Don't know if it was the rain per se, but I am sure that helped!! Way to Go!!
Dana, thanks....it can and does happen. Just takes some work! ;-)
Mark, it's true. I just generally don't talk about it...but this was something to talk about. ;-)
Carol Lee, I really dig to find out where they find me....turns out, many from posts I've written on AR. ;-)
Brian and Rita, feel free to follow me anywhere...it seems as if I am everywhere. ;-) Thanks for dropping by. ;-)

Thomas, thanks so much! It is exciting to share. ;-)
Teri, thanks...I think. ;-) Localism is where it's at, that's for sure.
Keisha, thank you.....that's cute. ;-)
Teri... I will admit, if it wasn't for AR and blogging, it would have been a very lean year for me .... thanks for sharing and congrats.
Elayna Fernandez | Marketing Naples FL
great.
Teri, congratulations! i guess there is hope for us all. Have a Prosperous New Year!!
Congratulations on such postive responses to your blogs. -- and to having your success featured here. I know you have worked hard -- and I plan to pay attention to what you have to say!
Hi Teri - Congrats on all of the business. You've really done a lot this year to build the "Lady In Red" brand through the Rain, Localism, Facebook, Twitter, etc. I'm glad to see your online efforts are paying off for you!
Good for you Teri! I'm so happy to hear that your AR experience is paying off for you.
Teri, thanks for the good news and congratulations. Online media such as Localism, Twitter, Facebook and Active Rain will lead the real estate recovery!!! Way to go!
Teri congratulations, yes blogging does work. I expect in the coming years with wider use of the social media more success will be achieved
Good for you. Localism is another arrow in our quiver.
Localism success stories dont surprise me one bit. Constant posting and keeping uptodate of the market will pay dividends!
Teri: That is awesome news!!!! It goes to show what hard word and AR can do for us. Congrat's!
Teri,
That is really great news--I always say that when the market turns, everyone on Ative Rain will be well-positioned. Good luck with the new listings!
I'm going out tomorrow night to sign my THIRD listing from AR in the past month. All are related to neighborhood posts. Isn't the rain a wonderful place to play?
Teri, love these success stories. And to all the former bloggers who use to post here, we do make money from Activerain. It is not just Realtors talking to other Realtors.
Congratulations, Teri! ActiveRain has been good to me, as well. Interesting fact is that more consumers contacted me through ActiveRain than ActiveRain members.
Teri, Congratulations on your success... I love the way you branded yourself!
Thanks for sharing your success with AR. I look forward to s few bones being tossed my way this next year.
That's awesome! Even though it hasn't been a stellar year, at least this type of marketing didn't cost you a stellar amount of money!
Tina in Virginia
Localism is a great site, I love checking out the info and pics.
You go girl! I think things are picking up a bit for me too. I was sent a referral last night from a member here. I'm not sure if I have had business from Localism. Maybe soon.
Hi Teri, Congrats to you! AR is great as far as helping buyers, sellers and other agents find us! Love it here! Great job on the featured post!
Teri that is fantastic! I have had a lot of success with AR myself and why I continue to invest a lot of time with it.
Teri -- That is awesome -- congrats -- that is the power of blogging -- JE
What? You mean you're actually getting business? Don't let this get out to the Media! No one's buying (or selling) so they say.
Congrats on the listings and Happy Holidays!
It may not be stellar but it better than most real estate agents. Congratulations on your success Teri. 2009 is going to be a much better year for you. Have a great day. Great post.
Teri,
Congratulations! Don't you just love blogging and the rewards of long nights and hours in front of the computer? When I get into conversations about the benefits of blogging with other Realtors, they say, they don't have time to blog.
I always say " I can't afford not to blog!"
Hope you have a "STELLAR YEAR" in 2009!!!!
Aw that is excellent- congrats! I discovered AR just 2 months ago and only got my license in September so I hope that I am heading down a good path!!!
congratulations, I love to hear success stories about hard work, and consistency on Active Rain that actually shows results from consumers, best of luck
Congratulations Teri - Three transactions is impressive!! I'm starting to see some benefit as well.
Best, Dan
Teri- I join the crowd in sending you contratulations. It is awesome to know that the time spent writing and posting on Localism is a hidden paycheck waiting to happen. Merry Christmas and much success for the new year.
Teri,
Congrats on the activerain feature! I keep posting to localism with the hopes of clients coming my way!
You go, girl!! YIPPEEEEEEE!!! This is what I'm talking about. :-) Luv these stories of success. Keep 'em coming. ~GBU~
Wow, great news. Good job. I better get on the ball here!
Hi Teri,
Thats awesome! Looks like your hard work is paying off, thanks for sharing your success! :)
Teri: Oops: I said hard word.... (above), of course I meant hardWORK.
That's fantastic, Teri! I've received quite a bit of traffic to my primary real estate website from Localism and several buyer / seller leads. I can't rave enough about it!
Teri... I look forward to the "ahh haa" momet for me! I know it just takes time.
Teri, I am so happy for you and that your work with Localism has got people to contact you.
Very encouraging, keep it up! I'll have to post more to Localism...
A bit jealous but i am glad that it is working so well. You have planted the seeds for 2009 and I am sure it will be a "stellar" year for you. Happy Holidays!
That's great, Teri! Keep up the hard work, it's obviously paying off. And thanks for the reminder that while I have been posting here at AR, posting to localism is something to focus on.
Keep sending in the positive news! Much needed out there!!!!
It's nice to hear this news about Localism posts. I have been busy taking photos of my community and adding them to localism. It has been slow to catch on here in Canada so that's fine with me. I am gradually starting posts for the different areas of my town. I have found that Google loves Localism and Active Rain and my presence on the web has grown tremendously from my blogging. This is basically free advertising for our business.
All the best
Jenny from Oakville, Ontario, Canada
Wonderful, may next year be even better!
Terri, Thanks for posting that. I was just wondering the other day if people were getting business benefits (referrals and listings) from active rain and not just connections and news. What a great answer to my asking.
Teri,
Congrats! Keep thinking outside the box.
It is great to know~ I am still waiting, but It will happen!
Hi Teri,
This is SO exciting. I have been a bit shy about the localism but recently started playing with it. I guess I was thinking the blogs has to be region specific, which they kind of do, but you can certainly add valuable content that is more generic in form. I am going to go in and look at yours so I can get an idea of what you wrote about.
Thanks for sharing your inspiring news!
Tamara
Jeff, you're very welcome. Thanks for dropping by. ;-)
Elayna, yep, Active Rain does work. I just decided to share my story - there are lots of others. ;-)
Jean, yes, there is hope. Lots and lots of it. ;-)
Alexsandra, everyone is very supportive on Active Rain. We're one big happy family. ;-) Thanks for your comment. ;-)
John, my lady is pretty much all over the place, huh? Thanks for stopping by. ;-)
Amber, admittedly, it is verrrrry time consuming to write good and informative localism posts; however, yes, they do pay off. ;-)
Annette, yes, I am a believer of using whatever resource is available to us....so that when things completely turn around, we'll be there waiting. ;-)
Jennifer, I complete agree. Thanks so much. ;-)
Lenn, thanks....and we need all of the arrows we can gather, yes? ;-)
Morgan, in a nutshell, you are absolutely right. ;-)
Kat, hard work is for certain. Thanks! ;-)
Diane, well positioned is something I hope always to be. Active Rain makes it even more so. ;-)
Cindy, that's FABULOUS!!! Be sure to share with all of us. ;-) We like good news. ;-)
Missy, yeah...I wonder where they all went, huh? It DOES WORK!!! :-)
Margaret, but we never know do we? Making that connection with other Realtors is an added benefit of posting on the Rain. ;-)
Judy, thank you so much. ;-)
Lubbock, we're all hoping for that as well. ;-)
Tina, I couldn't have said it better. ;-)
Jon, it really is. I've absolutely underutilized it....and will be working on just that site more. ;-)
Lizette, good for you too...thanks for coming by. ;-)
Sandy, thank you very much. ;-)
Bill, I know you have, and deservedly so. ;-)
Jason, thank you so much. ;-)
Lanette, let's not tell them, okay? "They" seem to know more than the Realtors and real estate professionals.
Lanre, thank you so much for your positive comment. I appreciate it. I hope 2009 is a good year for all of us. ;-)
Peggy, I can't afford to either - obviously. ;-)
Eugenie, well you've certainly hooked up with a bunch of savvy, go-getters on Active Rain. Lots of stuff to learn! Enjoy. ;-)
James, thank you. Hard work is what DOES work. ;-)
Dan, wonderful. Please share. ;-)
Martha, thank you so much - Merry Christmas to you as well. ;-)
I too have been getting many calls from Localism posts. It's been a wonderful way to create business.
Mike, they'll come - just keep the information and photos coming. ;-)
Elizabeth, thanks! ;-)
Gabe, gettin' on the ball is what it's all about. ;-)
Suzanne, you're very welcome. Thank you. ;-)
Kat, I figured that one out. ;-)
Kerry, thanks for sharing, and best of luck. ;-)
Bielenberg, etc.: It DOES take time, but it's worth the effort. ;-)
Gary, thanks so much. ;-)
Lauren, thanks - I plan to....best of luck to you. ;-)
Eric, jealous? You? Come on....positive stuff for all of us. ;-)
Kris, you're welcome....;-)
Casey, positive is the word for the year. ;-)
Jenny, great news! Just keep on doing what you're doing. ;-)
Jonathan and Corinne, I'm hoping it is for all of us. ;-)
No name, I'm glad I could help you with your wondering. ;-)
Michelle, I'm ALWAYS thinkin' outta the box. ;-)
Charlene, the secret is to keep on keepin' on. ;-)
Tamara, you are welcome - and keep on experimenting....;-)
Christine, FABULOUS, you must be doing something right. ;-)
Thanks for your post as I only joined AR a few months ago its good to read feedback on how AR has turned into business.
Thanks for the positive news. I haven't rec'd any business from it yet, but that helps me to keep on bloggin!!
congratulations! I wish I had the writer's capability to speed up my efforts on blogging about my area, but I keep getting writers block. I procrastinate and find other things to do....I will admit my buyer emails has picked up since blogging more this winter!
Excellent testimonial for Localism. I've had great success on AR but not on Localism. I get ~3-5 leads a week on AR but not one on Localism.
I continue to promote myself in both areas but the results speak for themselves.
Terri, rock on ! I love these types of stories ! Is very inspiring to all of us Rainers ! Blog Blog Blog ! Localism also I think will become more and more popular as well which will be quite awesome !
Julie, well welcome to the Rain. You will find so much great information here.....so enjoy! ;-)
Mindy, just getting your posts into the blogoshere is what it's all about. ;-)
Sandy, I was a bit lazy for a couple of months....had writer's block as well. I'm back now...and posting away. ;-)
Tracy, no matter where you post.....3-5 leads a week is fabulous. I certainly feel fortunate - these days - to get one a month. ;-)
Chris and Stephanie, I like hearing them as well. Posting photos with a tag on Localism is HUGE! ;-)
Sounds like Christmas came early for you Teri and you deserved it . Good luck and congratulations.
Charles, Christmas is all year -;-) thanks so much. ;-)
Teri, thanks for sharing and your inspiration will get to back to posting on Localism more often.
Teri, congrats on the gold star (well deserved, of course)! I'm not reading all 90 comments here, but I will be your echo and say that if people are not writing about their local areas and giving consumers information that they want and need when choosing an agent....well, that just leaves more for us, right? :)
Mindy and Jay, you're very welcome. I believe in sharing positive news these days. ;-)
Hey Lisa, thanks....I'll be busy for awhile now. ;-) And to answer your question, yes it sure does....;-)
That is fantastic! I love hearing about this. Well done!
Not only is this an uplifting and encouraging reason to keep blogging on localism but I LOVE your signature. How did you get the animation?
That's better than all the points on AR and all the fan clubs..that's money in your pocket...nothing beats that!
Congratulations Teri.. Sounds pretty stellar to me!
Mara, I used to have a wonderful friend by that name. ;-) Thanks for your kudos. ;-)
Janice, I love positive and encouraging news so thought I'd share. Click on my signature, and it will take you to the place where you can develop your own. ;-) I think it's mysignatures.com or livesignatures.com.....;-)
Neal, good point! ;-)
Barb, very stellar. ;-)
That's wonderful news, Teri. I get a lot of business from the Internet, but I rarely know where it comes from. People just say they found me online. I'll ask where, and they don't remember. But I suspect much of it comes from Active Rain. For example, when I plug into Google: land park sacramento real estate agent, I think Localism comes up 5th or 6th.
Elizabeth, I know, I know...it's hard to figure it out. I've been learning to trigger their memories. ;-) With AR being a PR rating of at least five, I know they help a LOT with my google presence. ;-)
Teri, congratulations. Active Rain is worthwhile and gives us all an opportunity to get to know how we all work which makes giving referrals so much easier.
from "someone here on the Rain"
Gena, thank you.....yes, it is worthwhile, and a great opportunity to get to know other agents across the country. It's always nice to be deemed worthy to receive a referral. ;-)
