I love capturing moments of places I visit. Since I've joined Active Rain, I've become even more aware of the scenery, clouds, trees, flowers, and - whatever. Don't you love those long winding roads with the sky so close you could almost touch it? How about those clouds. Here's just one view of many on the road to Show Low, Arizona. That's only two hours and 40 minutes, almost 7,000 elevation, and a much cooler climate than Mesa, Arizona!!! Great day trip, and a beautiful place to visit.

Teri,
Very lovely...and I too love posting pictures. It brings out that rare creative side in me...and I love seeing other pictures thorugh the eyes of others...
Very nice. It looks a lot ike the mountains of WV as well.
Great picture... I love it when you're out traveling and see a road that looks beautiful, you think, "I wonder where that goes?" When you have the time, it's so cool to just do it. What a pretty landscape. Love the layered cloud formations.
beautiful! Yup, higher elevation means cooler and scenic
Clouds are one of nature's greatest sculptures!
Hi Teri... What incredible cloud formations! They always intrigue me so much!
Richard, that's very true. No two are alike either. ;-)
Steve, aren't they awesome? ;-)
Teri: Thanks for posting this beautiful piece of your area/ I just love those cluds, brought back great memories of winninbg 2nd Science Grant for my 9th grade projoect on cloud formations and creations.
Those are enormous Cumulus clouds. These clouds form during fair weather as well as just before storms. "Clouds appear white because they reflect this sunlight. Basically a cloud reflects similar quantity of light therefore, it tends to look white, because the tiny particles of water in the cloud are so close to each other that sunlight cannot infiltrate deep into the cloud." A little science nugget from the teacher in me.
You know Teri, I haven't been to Mesa, but my hubby has. He said if we ever moved away from Oregon, Mesa was on the top of his list. He loved it there.
Hi Teri,
Spectacular scenery. You've got so many beautifiul places in your great state.
Kathleen, very useful comment. Thanks! ;-)
Melina, though I love Oregon, there is something about Mesa.....desert can be beautiful, and when we're as close as we are to the mountains, lakes, etc., it's even more special. ;-)
Lynda, we do, but then again, so do you. ;-)
Much cooler you say? Is that a hint? How much cooler are we talking? It was 90 here today and I was really thinking maybe, just maybe if there is a cool part of Arizona it maybe worth trip to see Teri.

Teri that really is a beautiful shot! I hope you are enjoying the summer and things are going well for you.
Todd, how about in the 60's? Go online and google weather for Show Low, Arizona....today, right now, it's in the 60's....maybe will get to the 70's....see, there are cool spots in Arizona - and only 2 hours and 40 minutes from Mesa, Arizona in the valley. ;.-)
Thanks Bill, I am and things are great. ;-)
Oh, Teri - you captured a BEAUTIFUL shot on your roadtrip! I think I can hear some Bob Seger playing in the background....maybe that's just me!
Great picture. I love the clouds in the mountains. They appear to move faster than here in the valley. We like the Roundhouse in Pinetop.
Teri - Nice Shot... Love your area... Would love to take some time off and visit... and especially for the cooler temps up in the higher elevations....
It is so nice to see beautiful pictues from other areas of the country. I think we Realtors® spend a lot of time in our cars and having a camera ready to share great pictures is a wonderful way to spice up your blogs with local material. I hope you tagged it with the zip code. Thanks for your post
Teri Lovely photo. I agree with you. Ever since We came on AR the camera is as important as the cell phone
Terri,
Beautiful picture. I love that you notice these things! It's amazing how many people go through life and just pass by the beauty of the world we live in without appreciating it.
Karen, thank you so much. Yep, a camera is now an extension of my arm. ;-)
Hey Debe, good to see you. I love cloud formations as well...they're such an amazing sight. ;-)
Martin, is that YOU? Welcome back!!! I notice everything - even the fact that I haven't seen you in awhile. ;-)
Being an easterner, I am always amazed at the stark beauty of the west. Good one!
Hi Teri,
Thanks for sharing this gorgeous shot from our fabulous state. I know exactly where you took this picture. That drive to Showlow is so picturesque.
What a lovely photos... You feel as if you can reach up and touch those clouds!
WOW "Lady in Red" you are going to have to really give Vegas Bob a piece of your mind when you get the chance for not stopping by your post months ago. I didn't think members were posting to this group any more and then I come across this wonderful post & pic.
