Wordless Wednesday! A Purple Wildflower in Northern Arizona!

Wordless Wednesday provides me with the opportunity to share some of my favorite photos I've taken. This one is one that I took of a wild flower on one of the many trails along the Mongollon Rim in Northeastern Arizona, a day trip from Mesa! I fooled around with the options on my camera and came up with the background blurred and the flowers clear. I hope you enjoy the picture! This is one I've actually printed and framed.

Teri -

I take you word that it is a wild flower.  But to me it looks like a thistle.  (Which would seem like a noxious weed set to torment rather than endear. Does it have thorny leaves...or at least prickly ones?

Hi Teri ~ We're finally covered with snow - what a difference a day makes - so it's nice to see such a lovely picture. Love how you changed the background.

Cool picture Terri. There is something so appealing about wild flowers. The settings with the blurry background rocks.

This is pretty. It looks like the pink version of our red powderpuff - maybe a cousin. :)

Great photo Teri.  It makes me wish for Springtime, or at least a trip to sunny Arizona.

Teri, that is a great photo!  Is it a thistle flower?  They, like cactus flowers are very beautiful.

Teri it is a beautiful photo and I can understand why you would frame it.  I love purple too.

Teri, You must be a glass half full person. You can take what some would call a weed and turn it into a lovely wildflower. I bet you turn lemons into lemonade, too. It is a lovely picture.

Thank you everyone for your comments. Jim and Tony/Darcy, it might be a thistle or a weed, but it's pretty nevertheless, dontcha think? And Don, nope, no snow in Sunny Mesa, but the mountains are definitely covered. ;-)

Merry Christmas

Teri I would like to see that plant in person from a golf course down there. We had a major storm in the San Juans , clear and 9 degrees, snow on the ground.

Merry Christmas

Nice depth of field, Teri! And if this is a weed, at least you don't have to worry about the digital version taking over your yard (or house).

William, thank you...I hope your day was wonderful as well. ;-)

John, thanks so much. This wasn't at my home but in the mountains, but thanks for the concern. ;-)

I like how you blurred out the background too. I think that is referred to as bokah. I have a new camera I am trying to find time to play with. One of these days I'll be successful like you. :)
