Active Rain is about Building Relationships Through Blogging!!

Active Rain is About Building Relationships through Blrelationshipsogging!!!  I think of a relationship as being between two or more people. When I write a blog post - especially on Active Rain - I know I have an audience including other real estate professionals, buyers, sellers, or just blog readers.

Yesterday, I received a call from an agent that I knew six plus year's ago. He noticed that I had started my own company, and had lately been wondering why he was writing a check to the brokerage for whom he worked. He was thinking about going out on his own. I gave him an overview of my experience, filing an LLC, etc., etc., and then asked him. Do you post on Active Rain? He responded that he did. He then went on to say that he had a blog, a website, etc., and it sounded like he was on his way.

Later on - I checked on Active Rain for his name and his blogging since I'd not seen any of his posts, and as you all know, I'm here a LOT!!  I thought I'd comment to one of his posts and welcome him to Active Rain! Yes, he had blogged a few times sporadically over the past two years, and received "maybe" five comments to his blogs - total. I looked to see if he had responded to the comments - he had not. He only had 25 points for commenting elsewhere.

My opinion and observation: he had not put in the time and effort involved in developing relationships with his readers.

Sheldon Neal, Randy Hooker, and Lisa Udy who only recently joined Active Rain in comparison to many of us have jumped communicatingon board, started to post blogs and to comment and to reciprocate, and communicate with other bloggers - and consequently rise to the top!! They are prime examples of those who are building relationships with their readers and potential clients. We all know that cream rises to the top... There are others here on the Rain - too many to mention - but I think I make my point.

I get a sense of who the person is when I read their blog. Are they knowledgeable? Are they really "saying" anything to me? Are they playful (that's important to me - but not a requirement necessarily, but since I am – you get the idea)? Do I "get" them? Do they "get" me? Since I'm an "out there" kinda gal....well, I kinda relate to those that are as well. I don't take myself too seriously, and LOVE to blog on Active Rain! I've learned HOW on Active Rain as well meeting fabulous individuals who I consider to be friends!

Are they someone with whom I feel "connected" in "some" way?

Connecting with someone who will be your real estate professional is HUGE!

As we Rainers connect with each other, then our buyer and seller readers, as well as those looking for a referral will know and see who we are. -- bringing us full circle....

A HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT!!! THE NEW KID ON THE BLOCK!! I FINALLY DID IT!!

Announcing!!Okay, okay, now that I have your attention ;-), many of you know that I've been in the process of opening my own brokerage. WELL AS OF TODAY - yes TODAY!!! I'm officially THE BROKER of HOMES ARIZONA REAL ESTATE LLC. Homes Arizona Real Estate Logo

In early December 2007 I wrote a post about my thoughts and concerns regarding opening a brokerage to which I had lots of input. My post was entitled "Need Advice and Counsel From Employing Brokers ". So many of you jumped right in and shared, shared, shared!!!

Well, I'm here to tell you - I don't know what took me soooooo long to do this. Yes, it was a tad confusing (so if any Arizona Realtors want to know the steps give me a call), but once I get my name changed everywhere on all of my websites, blogs, technorati, and on and on, I'll have that all behind me.

CelebratingThanks to all of you (and you know who you are) who encouraged me to move forward. The ones who shared positive feedback are greatly appreciated.  This is such an awesome community, and I truly feel I've made many friends here. So - am I walking around with a smile on my face? Absolutely!! In fact, I think I'm mentally dancing a jig!! Know what that is everyone?

My former broker, Model Home Center, is an awesome company! Don Martin, the designated broker is amazing as well. I'll miss him, but plan to call him when I need help.

My brother has six listings and is bringing them all over. He's bragging about having the first SIX listings for the Homes Arizona. I recommend them to anyone looking for a stellar company! I've been there for 7.5 years, and the only reason I left was to begin my own company.

How do you like my other little lady in red?

Well? So are you all proud of me?  I knew it!! Thanks again, and I'll be here for a long, long time.
